JOINT STATEMENT FROM AMPLIFY PUBLISHING GROUP AND GOTHAM GHOSTWRITERS ON SCRIBE MEDIA SHUTDOWN
Like many of our colleagues in the publishing industry, we were stunned by today’s news that Scribe Media — a leading hybrid publishing company — abruptly shut down operations and laid off its entire staff on May 25, 2023.
We can only imagine how shocking and disruptive this must be to Scribe’s many employees and contract writers and editors who have relied on the company for their livelihood, as well as to the authors who currently have projects under contract with them.
To those displaced team members — some of whom we have already heard from — please know that the doors at our two shops, Gotham Ghostwriters and Amplify Publishing Group, are open and we are ready to be a resource in whatever way we can.
The same goes for those authors who suddenly lost their support system. If we can be of service in helping you find another solution — whether it’s our companies or a referral to a more suitable partner — please don’t hesitate to reach out.
