The depth and diversity of our network — along with our sterling reputation for delivering high-quality content and service — are attracting an expanding list of authors and thought leadership clients (Fortune 100 brands, top entrepreneurs, global advocates, etc.) who need expert help telling and selling their stories.

You are a driven, versatile, self-starter with a real passion for the written word and a deep interest in the publishing industry and innovation. You are organized, efficient, and client-oriented. You have a problem-solving outlook and are brimming with abundance of initiative, and area based in the NYC area with the ability to spend 4 days per week in the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist COO in managing the agency’s daily operations, supporting and servicing clients, and promoting our brand.
  • Scheduling support for CEO and COO
  • Serving as a first point of contact for new business inquiries and requests for information about the agency
  • Handling the agency’s billing and supporting Bookkeeper
  • Maintaining our databases
  • Overseeing the client referral program
  • Supporting CEO and COO with special events and initiatives (conferences, courses, webinars, etc.)
  • Onboarding new writers to our network and educating them about our process
  • Managing the agency’s social media platforms and blog in conjunction with communications team
  • Conducting research

Writing opportunities, including our various newsletters, will evolve organically.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong writing, organizational, and people skills are the top prerequisites for this position
  • Extremely detail oriented
  • Amateur grammarians and punctuation police are encouraged to apply (please do!)
  • 1 to 2 years of experience working in a related field (publishing, PR, journalism, content marketing) and interfacing with clients/users
  • Extremely comfortable with Zoom, Canva, Google Suite, and other essential digital tools
  • Familiarity with the QuickBooks accounting program or a basic knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping

COMPENSATION: $25/hour for up to 35 hours per week as well as commissions for bringing in new business and bonuses tied to company performance.

We envision this position growing into a full-time role with a salary commensurate with junior positions in the publishing industry. Over time, the Operations Associate will also be encouraged to contribute more directly to the agency’s growth by identifying new business opportunities, cultivating new sources of referrals, and representing the agency at industry events.

Health care plan available.
