Brooke came to our team after eight years at Penguin Group (USA), a division of Penguin Random House, where she established herself as a terrific partner for top authors and a keen judge of great writing.
She began her career as an editorial assistant at Portfolio, Sentinel, and Current, and quickly worked her way up to editor. After five years at Portfolio, she moved to Gotham Books and then Avery, where she acquired and edited non-fiction books in the categories of business, self-help/ personal development, pop culture, lifestyle, and memoir. Some of her bestselling/ noteworthy titles include What the Most Successful People Do Before Breakfast by Laura Vanderkam, How to Be Richer, Smarter, and Better Looking than Your Parents by Zac Bissonnette, The Sell by Fredrik Eklund with Bruce Littlefield, and The French Beauty Solution by Mathilde Thomas. In her spare time, she runs a women-only book club, devours contemporary novels, and binge-watches Game of Thrones and The Gilmore Girls.
Brooke’s main responsibility at Gotham is to oversee the searches we do, with a strong focus on our book-related clients. She ensures that our clients find the right writing partner and serves as a backstop and sounding board throughout the drafting process. She also manages and curates our network of writers.
